We have workflow on documents. A document can contain any property
(String, Date, Long, Double etc, see jsr spec), but it can also
contain subnodes. One of these subnodes can be a resource node
containing a binary, such as an .exe. You can actually create your own
BE templates in the cms, where a default 'template block' you can add
is a 'Resource'. A resource can be any binary. By default, you cannot
upload .exe, as it is not default part of the upload types to be
allowed. This however you can change by just allowing the extension
.exe to be uploaded.

hope this helps,

Regards Ard
